Spare Tire Bike Rack

Here’s a little something for both my Jeep and my bike! I have been planning on getting a rack for my bike that will work with the spare tire carrier on my Jeep (so I can go exploring on my Jeep and bike in the same trip). I know my friend Alex in Albuquerque had some pictures of his Jeep with a similar setup, so I asked him about it. He told me that it was just collecting dust in his garage since he moved his spare tire inside the Jeep, so he offered it to me at a good price. I took him up on the offer, and it showed up yesterday. Looks like it will work great for me.

The rack is very easy to quickly install and take off, and keeps my bike high up off the ground, so I shouldn’t have any issues with it back there while I am exploring up to moderate trails.

Colorado River Trail ride

After adding the new accessories to my bike, I headed out for a ride on the Colorado River Trail. It was a nice sunny day and the temperature was somewhere above 50 degrees. Here’s a few pictures…

Stopped near the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad bridge

Unpaved portion of the trail

Grand Mesa in the distance

More presents…

The rest of my birthday presents showed up, along with a few items I also ordered for myself…

Overall shot taken today….added the Sette quick release fenders, water bottle holders and the small pack up by the handlebars (great for holding my camera).

I also added a mount for my Garmin Oregon GPS

There is also a Crank Brothers multi tool and a spare 29″ tube in the pack under my seat now, too 🙂

Eagle Rim Park

Took my bike for a short trip to Eagle Rim Park today in order to test out my new bike computer, which seems to be working well.
