The remaining part of my trackbar showed up today….the Rubicon Express trackbar brace. Guess I’ll be installing that this weekend with the Currie Steering now, too 🙂

Since I have been sick of the dead spot in my Rugged Ridge steering system for a while, I have wanted to change it out for a little while. On Friday I ordered my new Currie Steering system which arrived today. This kind of brings back some memories, because I installed this same steering kit on my 1992 XJ back in 2004….as seen here.

It’s also nice to see that they have made some improvements to the steering system in the last 4 years.

The zerk is moved to the side of the Tie Rod End and the grease boots are secured

It also looks like there is a bit more bend in the TRE that attaches to the pitman arm

So now I know what I will be doing this weekend!

Last weekend I noticed the bushings in my trackbar were shot. The trackbar I was running was only meant to be temporary so I didn’t want to invest any money into it. Instead, I decided to pickup and install the Rubicon Express Extreme Duty trackbar and bracket.

I also noticed I had a very bad ujoint that I also needed to replace this week. This is how my Jeep sat all week as I worked on it every evening after work.

I am happy to say that I got it back together this evening, and it is ready to head down to Silverton tomorrow with my friends from Utah.

Over the weekend, my Jeep started making some pretty bad noises from the front driver’s side. I tore it apart this evening and found the ujoint was actually crumbling to pieces. It’s a Spicer 760 that came with my Alloy USA shafts.

Time for a new one….got to get it taken care of this week and check the other side….among a few other things to repair. Need to get it back together so I can run Black Bear Pass with some friends this weekend

Finally, my new license plates have shown up. I ordered these things right after I first registered my Jeep here in CO back in April.
