Going Doorless Going Doorless

This is how I went doorless on my XJ. It was not very difficult and the benefits of wheeling with the doors off are great. This modification should work on any 1984-1996 XJ.

Upper Quarter / Corner Guards & Tail Lights Upper Quarter / Corner Guards & Tail Lights

After smashing up one of the rear quarters pretty good when I was out in Colorado, coupled with the fact that I was cutting my roof off in the back, I thought it would be a good idea for some quarter protection.

Replacement Rockers Replacement Rockers

After a few years of hard wheeling with my rock rails, they had managed to push up on the pinch seam so much, that it was being pushed up into the unibody and also pushing the floor up around it. It was also time to gain some more clearnace under the rockers, so I wouldn;t get hung up on them quite as much.

Trackbar Brace Trackbar Brace

Everyone who wheels an XJ finds out just how much force the trackbar bracket and unibody rail at that point needs to stand up to, as it usually becomes a trouble area. In order to help relieve that area of extra stress, I decided to build a trackbar brace.

Hood Spacers Hood Spacers

A simple project that helps get some of the hot air out from the engine compartment. Especially on those hot days sitting on the trails.

OME Shocks with JKS BPE's OME Shocks with JKS BPE's

JKS says that their Bar Pin Eliminators will not work with Old Man Emu shocks. They are wrong. As a matter of fact, there is really nothing special that needs to be done to get them to work. Check it out!

Relocate front brake lines Relocate Front Brake Lines

Want a cheap (free) way to extend your brake lines for some lift? Then read this article. I originally had not planned to relocate my lines after installing Rubicon Express Stainless Extended lines, but after I noticed my tires catching on them at full lock, I saw that it was a necessity for me.

Installing a Dana 44 Lockright Installing a Dana 44 Lockright

One of my best and favorite modifications is my Dana 44 Lockright locker. I should have done it sooner. Anyways, here's how to install yours!

JKS ACOS Install (with welded bumpstop holder) JKS ACOS Install (with welded bumpstop holder)

Need a way to fine tune your front suspension in the future? Then ACOS might be just what you are looking for, and the install is pretty easy, too!

Roll Your Fenders Roll Your Fenders

A cheap and easy way to get more tire clearance and lose the sharp edge of your cut fenders, while also making them more rigid.

Gila Monster Lower Quarter Guards Installation Gila Monster Lower Quarter Guards Installation

In my opinion, the lower quarters on the XJ are an important part of the unibody construction. Therefore, I wanted to protect them a little better, while also making them stronger. Check out the installation of Rock Lizard Fabrication's brand new Gila Monster Lower Quarter Guards.

YJ/TJ Mirror Installation on an XJ YJ/TJ Mirror Installation on an XJ

After removing my doors, I wanted to install a mirror on the driver's side to keep my XJ kinda street legal. Here's how I installed my YJ mirror.

Storage Box Storage Box

After removing my rear seat, I figured that it would be the perfect location to build a storage box for parts, tools, and recovery gear. This article is not a "how to" but might give you some ideas for your own storage box project. Check it out!

Replacing Pinion Yokes Replace Dana 30/44 Strap Pinion Yokes with U-Bolt Yokes

I'm not a huge fan of the strap style yokes, and wanted something a little stronger. I've heard of people drilling out their existing yokes and using the u-bolts in place of the straps, but I'm a little skeptical of that process, because those yokes were not intended to be used with u-bolts. That's why I replaced my yokes.

Removing the Front Wheel Well Pinch Seam Removing the Front Wheel Well Pinch Seam

Since I moved my axle forward for a longer wheelbase, I never had to worry about the pinch seam in the front wheel well cutting up my 33" tires. However, with plans of 36" tires in the near future, I decided it was finally time to take care of that pinch seam.

Installing Rear Dana 44 Seals & Bearings Installing Rear Dana 44 Seals & Bearings

After receiving my Alloy USA Chromoly Shafts from my rear Dana 44, I had to install the bearings and seals that were included with them. These shafts came with everything you need, except the retainer plates, which you can take from your current shafts if need be.

Mounting a 10lb CO2 Tank with Bracket Mounting a 10lb CO2 Tank with Bracket

After receiving my 10lb CO2 tank from Formatt Fabrications and getting it filled, I needed to find a place to mount it. See how I did it.
