Just about packed and ready to head out early in the morning…nine days in the mountains 
I’m heading out bright and early Saturday morning on a 9 day trip around Colorado. Been spending some time getting prepared 
After heading up Lands End Road to the observatory to feed the chipmunks, we headed over to Island Lake and made our way along the Granby Lakes trail. This was a short 4.5 mile trail, but it was very bumpy and slow going the whole way.

Amanda and I headed up onto Grand Mesa today for a few hours. After heading up Lands End Road to the observatory, we stopped there to feed some of the chipmunks. I snapped a few photos…
There are a number of rock art panels at this location. However, because of the heat we only made it to the first two. We are planning a trip to head back here in the fall (when it’s cooler) to finish the hikes and to check out a number of other panels in the area that we did not get to yet.
