Hopefully Rubicon Express will replace this coil spring under their ‘limited lifetime warranty’ We had a little bit of carnage on Arch Canyon today.
We were able to drive home just fine, except for the fact that my front passenger side sits a little lower now
I spoke with Jason at Jeepin Outfitters (I bought them from him) and he is going to talk to Rubicon Express about a warranty replacement. I’ll update with the status.

A few pictures from our drive to Blanding today. We opted not to take the interstate to US 191. Instead we took CO 141 through Gateway, and then hopped on County Road Y11 to Bedrock and then headed west to Utah where we hopped on US 191 south of Moab.

My original plans for today was to get up early and to explore Garvey Canyon located north of Fruita in the Book Cliffs. However, it rained all day yesterday and I figured the trail would still be slick and muddy today, so I cancelled that plan. Guess I will have to wait until the spring to check out that canyon now, because is closes for the season on December 1st.
Now, I’m just waiting for Amanda to get off work at about 12:30 so that we can head down to Blanding, Utah this evening. We are planning on spending the weekend exploring Anasazi ruins along Comb Ridge by foot and by Jeep this weekend. We should have plenty of pictures when we get back

That’s right….I went down to the Mesa County Sheriff’s office this morning and applied for my concealed carry permit. The application process didn’t take very long. However, they told me to expect to wait 14-16 weeks for my permit because the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (the agency that runs the background checks) is backed up with all the recent applications.
I guess I’ll find out just how long it will really take. I’ll post up again when I get it

Today, Amanda and I headed to the Book Cliffs in Utah for a little day trip. We started out by heading to Crescent Junction. Instead of hopping on the interstate, we decided to take the old abandoned US Highway 6 & 50 as far as we could.
Here’s the old Colorado / Utah state line marker
We were able to take the old highway to the second Westwater exit before we had to jump on the interstate. After making a short gas stop in Thompson Springs we hopped back on the old highway and made our way to Crescent Junction where we turned right and headed for the Book Cliffs.
After making it over Thompson Pass we hung a right and continued up Floy Wash.
