The Jeep is all loaded up and ready to go. I’m leaving straight from work today and heading up to McCaslin Mountain Campground in northern Wisconsin.
I’m looking forward to some relaxing WI wheeling this weekend. Obviously, expect pictures when I return home sometime on Sunday evening

Yeah, I know….nothing about Jeeps or wheeling, but I don’t care. I went with Amanda last night and saw Rise Against at the Congress Theater. It was an awesome show! Here’s a few pics I grabbed with my phone (sorry, quality isn’t the greatest).

John (lesslimited) and his wife Cindy held their annual Brewfest today at their home. I’ve made it to a few of these over the last few years and it’s always a good time to meet with some local XJ owners and have some good food. This year was no exception. As the event name implies, this event is based around John’s hobby of brewing his own beer, and he has a number of beers available and also brewed one during the event. I’m not a drinker, so I can’t comment about that aspect, but everyone else there seems to enjoy his brews.
Here’s a few pictures from the day

Decided to take some time during my lunch at work today and search for some very local caches. Found two of them before heading back to work. Here’s a few pics:

Doug’s wife Stephanie posted a note on GLJT here:
Hey, this is Stephanie. I’m greatful, Doug had his access to the sight locked in the computer, so I could get to you. He just Loved to Go Jeeping. Thank you everyone for your kind words and pictures. Doug looked forward to going out with all of you. It’s amazing how fast he grew to love this insane hobby.
I’ve spent a lot of time looking thorugh the picures. We had the best time at Bash this year. He had such a great time at Tellico with Randy, that we were starting to plan a trip back there next summer.
I gotta thank Zach for letting you know about all this. He has been such a great friend to Doug and I. He’s grown up so much in just the few years I’ve Known him. He’s a great teacher, loyal friend, and crazy as @#$%. He always could make Doug laugh. You guys get a little too tough on the kid sometimes, so please give him time to grieve, be as understanding as possible and help him out.
Zach and our Daughter, Maggie will be driving Big Blue in the Honor procession with all the fire trucks on the way to the church. Doug wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Sweeze, Ranger Paul, John & Craig, Randy, JoeZ – You guys rock too! We have had a great time bouncing around and sharing the laughs.
Doug would have hated us crying over him, so crack open a brew, recall a Doug Story, and remember to share yourselves with each other as freely as he gave of himself to others. Live your life to the fullest with no regrets. Doug Did and I couldn’t have been prouder to known and loved him.
Love,
Steph

Here’s a message Doug Heine’s (AKA nozzleram) wife sent out a little earlier today.
For those of you who do not know. Doug Heine, my husband of 20 years, died Friday, September 7th in a car accident in Goshen, Indiana at @ 10:25 AM. We think that he may have had a coronary event that caused him to loose control of the vehicle which then crossed the double yellow lines and struck an oncoming semi. He was killed instantly.”
Doug will be missed greatly by me. I have wheeled with him a number of times, and we had a great time last year at Windrock and Tellico. I know he had a great time that trip as well, since he told me a number of times. I’ve helped him on the trail and he’s helped me. We also had some great times hanging out and working on misc. projects at Zack’s shop. He had a great personality and was easy to get along with. I’m now glad that I went with him to The Badlands last month and wheeled with him for the final time.
Here’s a few pictures of the good times

Went out and did some caching by Amanda’s house in Algonquin today. Didn’t spend as much time as we planned since the mosquitoes were pretty brutal. Here’s a few pics from the day
The first stop was a place my parents brought me many times when I was younger, and is no longer open:
found the cache, signed the log

small one at a park we’ve been to before

one near this memorial

nice trail we didn’t know about to the river

Even though I have only been geocaching for a short time here, I already managed to get myself a First to Find (FTF) this evening. It helps that it was located right by my house, too
Now that I got one under my belt, I’m not too concerned about getting any more. It’s just nice to have one.
Here’s the one I got:

Added this little map to my Trails page here on the site. All the states I’ve gone wheeling are colored red. I hope one day to wheel them all
