Rockin’ XJ Jamboree 2006

Got home this morning from my weekend out at Johnson Valley. I had a great time hanging with the SoCal guys among others. Definately some nice hardcore trails there that are a lot of fun. I am hoping to get my rig out there next year :)

On to the pictures!

Got a late start leaving from LA on Friday morning at 3:30am…….so by the time we were getting close to JV, the sun was just coming up

Bunch of people from our group were already there when we got there

Once everyone woke up and headed out, I ended up riding with one of Richards friends who had a TJ. We started out on the beginning of Wrecking Ball and then turned off down Bender Alley.

Here’s some pics from the first part of Wrecking Ball

Now on to Bender Alley

oops…..broken stub on the 44

After finishing Bender Alley, we headed down Jack Back.

Then we shot over to check out Dirty Sanchez…..Matt was the only one to try, but didn’t make it.

Finally we went over to take a peek at Chocolate Thunder, and Richard decided to give it a shot, and made it look easy.

Just as the sun was setting

After an evening of hanging out and actually getting a bit of sleep, Saturday I rode with Geoff and did some easy scenic stuff and then went and watched some of the others on the big waterfall at the top of Wrecking Ball.

Here’s some pics from the easy scenic stuff

Part of the easy stuff included a nice flat dry lake bed that we got to race across.

don’t go past the barrier ;)

more racing

Then off to watch the waterfall on WB

Then it was back to camp for our dinner and raffle. Oh yeah, and Scrappy was tired of his roof flapping around, and had an angle grinder

Lots of good raffle stuff

Sunday we didn’t stay too long, but neither did anyone else. Went and watched some rigs run the waterfall on Backdoor.

Got some video of that fall, too:
