After finishing up my Colorado GPS Tracks page just over a week ago, I got started working on the Utah page. It’s not quite done yet, but a majority of the tracks I have are posted up there. I’m hoping to finish it up over the next couple of days. The permanent link can be found on the right side of each page on this website, or you can click here:
Utah GPS Tracks
Like the Colorado page, it’s a quick and easy way to help you find GPS tracks and plan for your trips. All of the tracks are provided in both the GPX format and for Google Earth (KML).
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know. Also let me know if there are any problems with any of the links.
12/31/09: Updated the Moab | La Sal Mountains Area tracks
1/2/10: Finished adding my Moab | Island Area tracks……the Utah page is complete now!

If you’ll look over on the right hand side of this page (actually, every page on this website), you might notice a new section called ‘Trail Information’ right below the random image. I have been working on this project on and off for quite a while, and have finally got enough of my GPS tracks organized and uploaded….so I figured it was time to post up my first page there: Colorado GPS Tracks.
This first page is dedicated to all of the trails that I have run in Colorado. It’s a quick and easy way to help you find GPS tracks and plan for your trips. All of the tracks are provided in both the GPX format and for Google Earth (KML). Once I finish up the Colorado page, I will start working on a Utah page.
When you do check it out, you may notice that some tracks are still missing. That’s because I am still working on getting all of my tracks uploaded and added to the page. There are still a number of trails that I haven’t added to the page yet, too, so there is a lot more to come!
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know. Also let me know if there are any problems with any of the links.
Enjoy!
Update 12/19/09: I have added tracks for the Uncompahgre Plateau and the San Juan Mountains.

Here I sit, the day before a long weekend….and I really don’t have any real plans. I know I want to go exploring in my Jeep and not head too far from home, but am not sure where I want to go yet.
Amanda has to work tomorrow, so I will be on my own….maybe head up on the Uncompahgre or Grand Mesa….or even Moab…
Thinking about Baxter Pass on Saturday with Amanda….
I might just get up tomorrow, hop in my Jeep and figure it out along the way?
It’s very unlike me to not have any plans for a long weekend….

Just wanted to point out that NAXJA is holding the 25th Anniversary of the Jeep Cherokee (XJ) in Moab, Utah next month. The event takes place from October 6th through the 12th. I am planning on heading down there on October 4th and staying through the whole event. During the week there will be a number of trail rides, a show and shine and a big dinner with a raffle.
At the raffle, NAXJA will be giving away a well-built Jeep Cherokee. For more information on the event, check out the event forum on NAXJA located here.
I attended the 20th Anniversary event back in 2003 and had a great time! I’m really looking forward to this one

Well, yesterday I made sure my Jeep is ready for my wheeling trip next weekend
Amanda and I will be leaving Thursday evening after work and heading South to Turkey Bay OHV located in Land Between the Lakes. I’ve never been there before, and have heard good things. We will be doing a little exploring and geocaching before heading back to Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois.
I can’t wait to get away for the weekend
Also, I will be towing my new truck for the first time this trip, too.

The Jeep is all loaded up and ready to go. I’m leaving straight from work today and heading up to McCaslin Mountain Campground in northern Wisconsin.
I’m looking forward to some relaxing WI wheeling this weekend. Obviously, expect pictures when I return home sometime on Sunday evening

It’s surprising with how close I live to Wisconsin, that I have never gone wheeling anywhere in the state yet. Fortunately, that should change next month when I attend CarnageFest. Which will be based out of the McCaslin Mountain Campground.
My plan is to drive up Thursday September 20th after work and make it to the campground. Friday I am planning on checking out the pipeline trail that is near the area. Then on Saturday, I’ll be hitting the McCaslin Mountain trail system. Sunday is up in the air right now, either I’ll be on the McCaslin system again, or I might do a little exploring in the Nicolet National Forest before heading home.
If you are interested in coming up for CarnageFest, you can get more information on MidwestXJ’s forum located here.

My Jeep is finished up (well, as much as I was going to get done before this trip anyways) and drives pretty well on the highway. All I have left to do is buy a few last minute items for the trip and load up my Jeep tonight.
Leaving tomorrow from work and driving straight through to Denver (or around there) before finally making it to the Sawatch range to begin my expedition.
Can’t wait to leave tomorrow……work is going to drag until then….
