After finishing up my Colorado GPS Tracks page just over a week ago, I got started working on the Utah page. It’s not quite done yet, but a majority of the tracks I have are posted up there. I’m hoping to finish it up over the next couple of days. The permanent link can be found on the right side of each page on this website, or you can click here:
Utah GPS Tracks
Like the Colorado page, it’s a quick and easy way to help you find GPS tracks and plan for your trips. All of the tracks are provided in both the GPX format and for Google Earth (KML).
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know. Also let me know if there are any problems with any of the links.
12/31/09: Updated the Moab | La Sal Mountains Area tracks
1/2/10: Finished adding my Moab | Island Area tracks……the Utah page is complete now!

If you’ll look over on the right hand side of this page (actually, every page on this website), you might notice a new section called ‘Trail Information’ right below the random image. I have been working on this project on and off for quite a while, and have finally got enough of my GPS tracks organized and uploaded….so I figured it was time to post up my first page there: Colorado GPS Tracks.
This first page is dedicated to all of the trails that I have run in Colorado. It’s a quick and easy way to help you find GPS tracks and plan for your trips. All of the tracks are provided in both the GPX format and for Google Earth (KML). Once I finish up the Colorado page, I will start working on a Utah page.
When you do check it out, you may notice that some tracks are still missing. That’s because I am still working on getting all of my tracks uploaded and added to the page. There are still a number of trails that I haven’t added to the page yet, too, so there is a lot more to come!
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know. Also let me know if there are any problems with any of the links.
Enjoy!
Update 12/19/09: I have added tracks for the Uncompahgre Plateau and the San Juan Mountains.

Since a number of people have asked me about a GPS track for the Kokopelli trail, I have decided to go ahead and post them up here, before I get around to doing a full trail informational post. So below you will find the GPX and Google Earth (KML) track of the Kokopelli 4×4 Trail starting at the trailhead in Loma and ending at Main Street in Moab.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them below.
Enjoy

I have not been very happy with the maps I have been using for my trail writeups, so I spent some time working on better maps with more waypoints added this evening. I’ll be working on updating the trail writeups over the next few weeks/months as well as posting better Google Earth KML files.
Here’s a few of the maps I have completed this evening

Here’s the GPX track and a map from our short trip yesterday. This track follows Coal Canyon from the Cameo exit along I-70 and heads to the first overlook.
There are more trails in this area that can be explored (which I will continue to do).

While in the San Rafael Swell last weekend, I used Amanda’s Garmin eTrex Venture HC to keep GPS tracks from both days. Here’s the map from Google Earth.
I’ll also attach the KML file here if you would like to play around with it.
